Dora Livestock is backed with the story of a strong and resilient man, our founder George Iskandar.
George's poor upbringing required him to work multiple jobs from the mere age of five including feeding cattle, picking vegetables, and picking and drying tobacco. As his dependence on his work to support the family grew, he was forced to give up school for two years and work for 18 hours a day. At the age of 18, Georges traveled to turkey seeking better opportunities and succeeded in the livestock trading business. He started exporting on a very small scale from Turkey to Lebanon. Despite all the obstacles he faced and the economic effects of wars, he persevered and was able to get back on his feet and recover from all the previous losses. With hard work and commitment, George started to expand, growing his business and eventually leading the market.
Below is a brief timeline of how we became leaders in importing/exporting livestock in the market worldwide.
